… Our Emotions …

Recognising Emotions

Emotions are a normal part of human life. Working with our emotions we better understand ourselves and those around us. The film Inside Out, 2015 from Disney Pixar looks carefully at the relationship between our emotions and behaviours.

Emotions and The Body

Within the human brain we have the limbic brain specifically to deal with our emotions. The majority of us know what it is to see a happy, sad, angry or bored face and many more. The emotions guide us in our behaviours and interactions with society. Recognising emotions help us. There is a lot more behind emotions than what we see. This is to do with our experience of the emotion, how our body reacts and our behaviours as a response.

Emotions and Therapy

Our emotions, though we don’t always realise it, have an enormous affect on our lives. A lot of the time emotions are processed in the ambit of art. This can be due to many reasons including various disorders, disabilities, discomfort and/or disease. Time and time again people are recommended to do therapy in Art, Music or Dance Movement (DMT). In recent years these creative therapies have become much more important.

Emotions and Creativity

When we are in a state of creation we help the body. When feelings of sadness occur, often being creative or in touch with nature can help to digest what has happened. Emotions are a normal part of human life.

Love

Today there are so many interpretations of love, so many different kinds of relationships. Recent years have seen the development of love languages.

Ultimately by loving and accepting yourself you transmit this message to those around you.

Forgiveness

Forgiving helps us to release anger and resentment towards a certain situation, event, person or group. Letting go of the emotion creates room for more happiness in our lives. It can be hard and difficult to forgive but by choosing not to let negative events of the past define how you feel about someone or something in the present you can lead a more wholesome life.

Compassion

We are so many different bodies on the planet. Each of us unique with our own thoughts, feelings, beliefs and perceptions.

By showing kindness and caring we express gratitude and help improve the lives of others.

The ability to feel sympathy and sorrow for someone else and help to alleviate their suffering is a worthy thing.

Courage

Having courage in this day and age when so many of us are trapped inside our own fear is something many of us don´t think about. kids are a great example they don´t get scared and are always trying new things.

Decide to go for something with all your heart and don´t give up, don´t let fear ruin your day.

Be you, try to be happy, but above all be yourself
